OUR MISSION
We are dedicated to bring hope and empowering the children in our community by providing them a bike, one of the most important parts of the development of a child.
Pins and Pedals was founded by Denny and Linda Moore over 16 years ago. Since then the Moores’ event committee has raised more than $450,000 for the charity and donated hundreds of bikes. Ellsworth-Moore says the bike drive is important because this simple gift makes a big impact on a child at any age.
Linda is an experienced Realtor at Coldwell Banker Hubbell BriarWood who believes every child deserves a fair chance in this uncertain world. This fundraiser warms her heart. She loves providing hope and healing to children in need.
Denny Moore is honored to be part of the committee and assisted in creating this event to help children that are at- risk. He wants to make an impact by giving back to those in our community that need it most.
The Moores founded Pins and Pedals more than 18 years ago, and since then, they’ve raised more than $450, 000 and hundreds of bikes for Child and Family Charities. Pins and Pedals also partners with Coldwell Banker Realty during Christmas for the Gifting Tree initiative, which provided more than $3,000 worth of gifts last year to local children. Over the years, the Moores’ work has caught the attention of many within the industry. In 2020, they earned the Good Neighbor Award from both the Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS® and the Michigan REALTORS®. And in 2021, they were one of 10 finalists nominated for the National Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award. While they didn’t walk away with the title, they did receive an honorable mention as well as the title of “Web Choice Favorite,” earning more than $3,000 in grant money for their charity. The Good Neighbor Awards “recognize REALTORS® who make an extraordinary impact on their communities through volunteer work.” “We were honored to be nominated alongside some very deserving REALTORS® who are all doing amazing things within their communities,” said Ellsworth-Moore. “We only hope our work will continue to grow and that it will inspire others to get involved and give back.”
This year’s bowling event is already scheduled for October 29th and the group is always looking for volunteers. To find out how you can get involved, contact Linda Ellsworth-Moore at 517-256-0573 or lindaem@cb-hb.com
